Spirit of Goodwill Band Performed at the South Beach Jazz Festival
The annual festival promotes inclusion for persons with disabilities.
Miami, FL. (January 13,2023) - The 2023 South Beach Jazz Festival featured world-renowned musicians from the entire spectrum of jazz including traditional, contemporary, and Latin American cutting-edge acts as well as local acts. The award-winning Spirit of Goodwill Band was right at home at the annual event presented by Power Access, Inc. to raise the community around issues of inclusion and accessibility.
"This extraordinary and disciplined group of men and women, with their own style of music, have much more to show than just a great sound," said David Landsberg, President, and CEO of Goodwill Industries of South Florida (GISF). "Their cohesive performance is a testament to the healing and empowering power of music, participation, cooperation, and friendship. "
The band members live with everything from autism and down syndrome to blindness and other physical, mental, and developmental challenges. During the day, the group works and rehearses their music at Goodwill South Florida.
The spirit of Goodwill band delivers a poignant message that also resonates at the heart of Goodwill's mission. We all share dreams and aspirations for a life lived in full. Given the proper opportunities, we can all accomplish amazing things. Goodwill provides these opportunities every day through vocational rehabilitation training and employment services.
